The year 2026 will always be a truly American moment to celebrate. The United States marked its 250th anniversary and in honor of this historical moment, O Street International (OSI) will establish The Opportunity Center for Cultural & Historical Preservation and launch its first fundraising campaign to restore the First Baptist Church of Bluemont, Virginia, which was established in 1888. This special endeavor will share stories of America’s past, assuring that our history continues to contribute to the making of a More Perfect Union for another 250 years, and serve as a pillar for community engagement and outreach not only within Bluemont, but across Virginia and our entire country.
“America’s culture is our strength,” said Omari Faulkner, President of O Street International. “And the strength which has defined America’s culture, the strength of America’s people, must be told, preserved, protected, and honored.”
Having lived in Bluemont for over 13 years, Omari’s love for this community and surrounding areas has been a driving force to share its history, connect with members of the community, and provide educational tools for generations to come.
OSI is collaborating with historical preservationists, local and national organizations, and a host of volunteers to fully restore the First Baptist Church of Bluemont. To support and expand our mission, OSI is accepting tax-deductible donations, which will go directly to preserving and opening the church. Our goal is to raise $250,000 by December 31, 2026. OSI started this journey in 2025, and we have made significant progress during a “quiet phase” of fundraising, having already raised over $100,000 thanks to our founder, board members, and generous donors.
“Fully restoring the First Baptist Church of Bluemont will serve as an example of our American resilience, and most importantly, our faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which guides us through every mission, challenge, and moment through life,” Omari added.
Having served as a symbol of unity, strength, and community faith since 1888, the First Baptist Church of Bluemont will be a beacon of light for Bluemont, Virginia and neighboring communities far and wide.
